What happens next?

What happens once you’ve booked a craft workshop? You might be wondering this while thinking about a craft workshop you would like to book. Once you have checked your availability for dates and have booked a place of one of our workshops this is where the experience begins to plan your day.

We have directions to The Wood Cottage Crafts studio with a google map to help you. We are on the outskirts of Brompton by Sawdon, on the A170 to Pickering. There is public transport, a bus route stop being about a 100 yards away from us. We have ample parking at the studio for all our guests so you can park right next to us, no worries about on-street parking or time restrictions at The Wood Cottage Crafts, this really helps if we overrun a little with the creative process.

If you would like to choose fabrics we have a lovely selection of craft fabrics which have been chosen with the workshop in mind and I can guide you which fabric choices would work for your creation, whether it is a polycotton Christmas pyjama print or a striped jersey fabric for one of our Tilly and the Buttons workshops we have something to suit. If you prefer to bring your own that’s great, just check on the measurements you need for the project.

We have a full equipped studio with sewing machines, overlockers, scissors, tools and thread so no need to worry about bringing a machine. They are sanitized and safety checked too for your safety. I wear a visor during workshops we have sanitiser and guests bring their own masks. On that note, what happens if you book a workshop in covid restrictions? Don’t worry if you book a workshop and covid restrictions tighten there are choices that you can decide

  • You can change your booking to a 1:1 session on a date that works for you at no extra cost

  • We can change a live workshop into a virtual workshop, I would post the materials pack to you and I guide you as I would in a live workshop but in the comfort of your own home (you may need a sewing machine depending on the workshop)

  • We can postpone to a time that is suitable to you within 12 months

  • You can cancel and refund within 24 hours of the workshop should you need to.

Teas and coffees are included and if your workshop is a full day you will need to bring a packed lunch. That’s about everything you need to come and enjoy a relaxing craft workshop. The workshop has a wonderful view and adds to the creative relaxing atmosphere. If you would like a pre-visit you are welcome, check google for the opening times. If you have any queries about a sewing or craft workshop for yourself, party or as a craft gift voucher don’t hesitate to get in touch. So I hope that helps answer the question "I've booked a workshop, what next?".
